Saskatchewan Chapter of the Western Canadian Blacksmith Guild
(scWcbg)
The SCWCBG is a non-profit organization based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada. Our annual AGM occurs in January each year at the Western Development Museum (WDM) in Saskatoon.
We were established in 1987 to provide a method of exchanging ideas and friendship between like-minded individuals interested in blacksmithing.
2012 AGM January 28th at 1pm in the volunteer centre in the WDM
We are a motley crew of smith’s;
traditional blacksmiths and modern blacksmiths
The Mission of our guild is to preserve and promote the art and craft of blacksmithing within Saskatchewan’s provincial boundaries. Our actions include demonstration, organizing and/or attending blacksmith courses and conferences, dissemination of information to its members in the newsletter (The Rivet )and our website, and by offering moral support to blacksmiths beyond our provincial boundaries.
